Educating Baptists on the Holy Spirit
Published April 27th, 2007 by Ken Silva in False Teaching, General NewsYou’ve just got to love the Lord’s timing. I was just sent this Christian Post link by a reader of Apprising Ministries. “A three-day conference is underway in Arlington, Texas, to teach Baptists and other Christians what Scripture says about the Holy Spirit.” I sure hope Dr. Ed Young plans to attend. See my earlier post Two-Time President of the Southern Baptist Convention Dr. Ed Young on the Holy Trinity.
The report goes on, “Recent debates on charismatic practices within the Southern Baptist Convention prompted the Rev. Dwight McKissic to open ‘A Baptist Conference on The Holy Spirit’ on Friday along with a host of speakers lined up to discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in the church.”
Certainly would be nice if we’d let Him back into the Church but, O yes, nothing like majoring in minors as prominent Southern Baptist Pastors like Dr. Ed Young preach modalism from the pulpit and embrace Oneness Pentecostal heretics (any chance they speak in tongues!?) like T.D. Jakes who denies the Trinity, and we’re going to argue about a “prayer language.” Looks to me as if the rapidly apostatizing SBC would be better off praying period.
