This stellar work by A.A. Hodge (1823-1886) was originally published in 1860 in his Outlines of Theology, it is still regarded as a great introduction to classical Protestant theology. In here Hodge lays out in very practical terms what the historic orthodox Christian means by sola Scriptura. Ingrid has pointed out before how important it is that we recognize this is a key point of attack from authors within the Emerging Church movement and new evangelicalism with its contemplative spirituality.
