In the comments section of his post The Responsibility of Man, yet another straw-filled rant against what proper Biblical Reformed theology doesn’t teach, Baptist minister and would-be theologian Henry (Rick) Frueh states an absolutely core belief in the seriously off-track man-centered new evangelicalism:

The notion that man cannot know about God or even seek Him while still unredeemed is unbiblical and also dangerous… In their fleshly attempt to magnify the sovereignty of God they have changed His truth, formed them into doctrines, and now idolize them.

No one is saying unredeemed man "cannot know about God," but it is the Bible itself which says:

as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE." (Romans 3:10-12)

And since this is actually the inspired Apostle Paul–who is only being led by God the Holy Spirit to quote what the Lord had already said twice (Ps. 14-1-3; 53:1-3)–one would feel safe in assuming that God is attempting to get an important point across.

Tragically, and with eternal ramifications, today it is widely being missed by the majority of what is passing for the Christian Church in America today. Their spiritual father Robert Schuller must be very proud.
