ASSEMBLIES of GOD: Dr. George Wood rebukes Todd Bentley?
Published June 17th, 2008 by Jon Sharp in GeneralAn anonymous commenter at "Living in The Way" has claimed that Assemblies of God General Superintendent, Dr. George O. Wood has sent a letter of rebuke to "Florida Outpouring" leader Todd Bentley.
No details were given and "Living in The Way" has researched the claim finding no verifying evidence that the claim is true.
The commenter wrote: "(Dr. George O. Wood) recently contacted Bentley with a letter of rebuke and asked various questions which to my knowledge he has not received a response to yet."
"Living in The Way" comments "…if Dr. Wood indeed sent a letter of rebuke to Mr. Bentley, it is concrete proof that Dr. Wood is UTTERLY FAILING to faithfully lead tens of thousands of AG members who have embraced the "Florida Outpouring" AWAY from Todd Bentley’s deeds or teachings that prompted his rebuke. AND if Todd Bentley has DELAYED in responding to a rebuke from an international denominational leader, then HE shows disregard and disrespect for the rebuke and for the Assemblies of God which gave him his platform for this so-called revival!"
If this "rebuke letter" claim is true, Dr. George Wood needs to make public his rebuke and his reasons for it and thus for once give Assemblies of God congregations and pastors some Biblical guidance leading them FROM charismatic chaos rather that toward it.
