Carter/Clinton Work to Change Baptist Image

The term Baptist is about as precise as the term “evangelical” today. Nonetheless, former Presidents Carter and Clinton have decided that “Baptist” has too much right-wing baggage attached, so they are setting out to change that as reported by the Christian Post. Carter must be particularly annoyed by the pro-Israel bloc of Baptists, given his latest book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid. The anti-Israeli position he espoused in the book resulted in the resignation of 15 members of the Advisory Board of the Carter Center yesterday. Bill Clinton would, no doubt, like to change the morality component of traditional Baptist teachings. Adulterous flings with one’s personal assistant would then no longer be frowned upon or treated in a “judgmental” fashion, but perhaps would be an indication of one’s open-mindedness. The legal murder of the pre-born continues to be defended by both men and gay marriage is approved of as well. This is what happens when the Bible is thrown out as the foundation of your spiritual beliefs. We have moral anarchy.
