Saddleback church’s High School Youth Pastor, Josh Griffin, posted this on his blog regarding his internal struggle regarding whether or not he should teach a lesson against stealing.

A couple of weeks ago I was talking with someone about possibly teaching a message on stealing. At first, it didn’t seem to be something that we should address to the whole ministry, but we’ve seen indicators crop up more and more this is happening with the students we are reaching. Interesting study today says that 30+% of teenagers today are stealing. Have you ever taught on it, aside from a mention in another talk? (Emphasis Added)

Unbelievable!! A “Christian” youth pastor at one of the MOST influential churches in the world actually thought that addressing the sin of stealing didn’t seem like something that should be brought up to the whole ministry. Has Youth Pastor Josh ever heard of the Ten Commandments?!? (Maybe they don’t talk about the Ten Commandments at Saddleback) The seventh Commandment says in clear simple language that even a Youth Pastor can understand, “THOU SHALT NOT STEAL”.

Apparently the Biblical mandate against stealing was not enough to convince Youth Pastor Josh from Saddleback Church that stealing should be addressed to the whole ministry. Nope! The thing that clinched it for him was a study on teen stealing that was recently published in the news.

This is just another example of just how far off the Biblical rails Saddleback Church and its pastoral staff are.

Josh, Kurt and Rick need to step down from their pulpits and go back to school and take some remedial Bible classes.
